* Printing glassware requires oven curing. These inks don't skin over so they have to be heat flashed between each print, and since these inks are very transparent, they need several hits to be opaque. After printing, the parts need oven cured at 350F for 4 minutes.

Considerations to Pad Printing

  • Is the print surface "print ready" or does it require pre treating and/or cleaning?
  • Do lighter ink colors require more than one hit to achieve opacity over a dark surface?
  • Will there be distortion of the artwork over a complex curve?
  • Do thin lines and small type need to be compensated for achieving readable prints?
  • 4pt letter height caps, sans serif, is the smallest that can be pad printed and still be fairly readable.
  • PMS color matching is within 10%, meaning, we come close on a white surface, not as close on colored.
  • Printing Polypropylene and Nylon plastics requires raising the surface tension of the plastic so that the ink will adhere. For this we pretreat the print area with Corona Plasma. The charge is a few cents more. Corona may leave wet marks on some brands of polypropylene. Send us samples for testing.
  • Ship costs, unpack and repack? We do not print and then ship "in bulk". No ink is bullet proof and foam wrapping, layering and even individual bagging must be considered.
  • Except for USB drives we do not print finished products. We print only components. In other words, we won't print on a fully assembled clock or cell phone as there could be damage to the product during printing. We won't print on a container filled with product, such as a cosmetic. However, on our Promotional Products Catalog page you'll find consumer products that we can supply printed with your brand.
  • A note on "Tooling": Occasionally we will charge for tooling, such as for a modification to our print table that will hold your product secure during printing. This tooling charge is considered a one time rental fee charged to you on the first order only. You are not purchasing any fixture, cliche, pad etc. from us. Those remain our property.
